Linking Backorders to POs in Purchasing

Effortlessly manage backordered sales orders in P21 with Recurrency's Link Backorders to POs on Export feature. This capability ensures seamless tracking and fulfillment by automatically linking purchase orders (POs) to their corresponding sales order (SO) lines in P21.

How to Enable the Feature

This feature is disabled by default. To enable it, an Admin should:

  1. Navigate to Settings โ†’ Purchasing Automation in Recurrency.

  2. Locate the Link Backorders to POs setting.

  3. Toggle the setting to enable automatic linking of backordered SO lines to POs

How to Use the Feature

After this feature is enabled, no behavioral change is required. Purchasers should continue working as usual:

  1. Open the Purchase Target Lines (PTL) in Recurrency.

  2. Review backordered sales lines that require purchase orders.

  3. Create the necessary POs directly within Recurrency.

How Linking Works Behind the Scenes

  • When a PO is exported from Recurrency to P21, the system automatically associates the PO with relevant backordered SO lines.

  • Recurrency prioritizes linking based on the oldest sales order lines, ensuring timely fulfillment of the most critical orders.

Important Notes

  • Feature Availability: This feature applies to P21 users only.

  • Visibility in P21: The relationships are recorded in P21's oe_line_po table, ensuring accurate tracking of linked sales and purchase orders.
