Exporting Data from Recurrency

Updated over 2 months ago

Recurrency provides robust in-tool analytics for inventory management, forecasting, and demand planning. However, there may be times when you need to analyze your data or share it externally using tools like Excel or Google Sheets. Recurrency makes it easy to export data as CSV files from various areas within the platform for in-depth external analysis.

This article provides a step-by-step guide to exporting data and lists the main areas where you can do so.

How to Export Data from Recurrency

  1. Locate the Download Button
On any page that supports data export, you'll see a “Download” or “Export” button (typically in the top-right corner of the screen). Clicking this button will allow you to download data in CSV format.

  2. Choose the Data You Want to Export
Depending on the page, you may have the option to filter data before exporting. For example, you can filter by date range, product categories, locations, or other parameters to narrow down your results.

  3. Download and Save
After applying your desired filters, click the “Download” button to generate a CSV file. Once downloaded, you can open this file using Excel, Google Sheets, or another tool of your choice for further manipulation and analysis.

Areas in Recurrency Where You Can Export Data

Recurrency supports data exports across various modules. Here's a non-exhaustive list of where you can export data for external use:

1. Inventory Mission Control

  • Historical Charts: Download historical inventory data over time to analyze trends in stock levels, inventory turnover rates, and other key metrics.

  • Inventory Status Explorer: Export current inventory status, including stock levels, on hand inventory, and last sales date.

2. Forecasting

  • Export and analyze forecasted demand and future trends for specific items or categories.

3. Planning Recommendations

  • Export key data from the Planning tab, including lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and unit cost.

  • Exporting Planning Recommendations data can be particularly useful while onboarding onto Recurrency. By exporting Planning Recommendations data, you can perform in-depth reviews and adjustments outside of Recurrency, helping to streamline the transition and ensure your inventory settings are aligned with business needs.

4. Items in Purchase Status

  • Download lists of items in the Purchase Status page, allowing you to track all stockable and backordered non-stock items by their purchase status across all locations.

Tips for Managing Exported Data

  • Apply Filters Before Exporting: Always apply the appropriate filters (e.g., time period, item type, or location) to ensure you're downloading only the data relevant to your analysis.

  • Keep Data Secure: If your exported data contains sensitive information, be sure to store and share it securely. Always follow your organization's data privacy policies.

  • Combine Multiple Exports: In cases where you need to merge data from different pages (e.g., Inventory Mission Control and Forecasting), you can use Excel or a database tool to combine and analyze datasets side by side.
