When you're refining your min/max values in Recurrency, it's important to avoid immediately re-reviewing items you've already made decisions about. That's why we’ve introduced default exclusion periods to help you stay focused and avoid unnecessary work.
When you submit a custom min or max override during demand planning:
You’ll now be prompted to choose an exclusion period—how long that item should be excluded from future reviews.
The system will pre-fill this with your default exclusion length, making it quick and consistent.
You still have full control: you can change the period for any item on the spot. Options include selecting a different time frame (like a week or 3 months), setting a custom date, or choosing not to exclude the item at all.
How to Set Your Default Exclusion Length
To streamline your workflow, you can configure a default exclusion duration in your global settings. This default determines how long items are automatically excluded unless you specify otherwise.
Location:
Go to:
Settings → Demand Planning → Default Exclude Duration
Options:
1 Day
1 Week
1 Month (default)
3 Months
6 Months
Setting a longer or shorter default lets you tune how often items come back up for review, depending on your team’s needs and product patterns.
Why This Matters
These exclusion periods ensure you’re not constantly revisiting items that haven’t had time to accumulate enough usage data or show meaningful trends. By creating a buffer before reconsidering your overrides, you keep your reviews focused, efficient, and relevant.
