Set Required Date by Line Item

Overview

The Set Required Date by Line Item feature enables precise control over procurement timelines by allowing users to specify unique required dates for individual items in a purchase order (PO).

This feature helps streamline planning and ensures suppliers receive accurate information for each item in a PO.

How to Use the Feature

  1. Make the Required Date Column Visible

    The Required Date column is hidden by default. To enable it:

    • Go to the Purchasing screen and click the Column Configuration button.

    • Locate Required Date in the configuration menu and enable it.

    • Reposition the column to fit your workflow if needed.

2. Set Required Dates for Line Items

Once the column is visible:

  • A new Required Date column will appear in the purchasing lines flow.

  • By default, each line item’s required date matches the PO's overall required date.

  • To edit:

    • Click the date field in the Required Date column.

    • Use the date picker to select a new required date for that specific line item.

3. Export Required Dates During PO Submission

  • When you submit a PO, the system will include the required date for each line item based on the values set in this column.

  • These dates will be exported to your ERP system, ensuring accurate supplier information.

  • During PO submission, each line item’s required date will reflect the value specified in this column.

Important Notes

  • Default Behavior: If no changes are made, all line items will retain the PO's required date.

  • Configurable Settings: This can be made visible or hidden by each user from the Line Items page in the Purchasing flow
