Before you start with Demand Planning, it’s important to set up a few initial settings in your Recurrency dashboard. These configurations will ensure the platform aligns with your business needs and provides the best possible insights.
This article is paired with two short videos that walk you through everything step by step. We recommend watching them for a full overview.
Core Configuration Settings
In this first video, Daniela from our Customer Success team explains the foundational settings in Recurrency:
Buyer Filter – Enable if multiple buyers manage suppliers in your ERP. Leave off if not needed.
Dead Stock Interval & Threshold Criteria – Define how many months of inactivity mark an item as dead stock, and choose whether to use last invoiced, purchased, or sold dates in the calculation.
Safety Stock – Continue using ERP values or switch to Recurrency’s calculation based on lead time (default: half of lead time demand).
Fill Rate Grace Period – Set how many days past the requested ship date still count as “on time” for your fill rate.

Cost & Review Settings
In the second video, Daniela introduces three additional essential configurations:
Planning Unit Cost – Choose from Last Purchase Cost, Moving Average, Standard Cost, or Supplier Cost for demand planning calculations.
Inventory Unit Cost – Select FIFO, Moving Average, Last Purchase, or Standard Cost depending on your inventory reporting preferences.
Review Thresholds – Control how Recurrency flags items for review when Min/Max values differ from recommendations. Options include:
5% Threshold for items not reviewed in the past month.
30% Threshold for items recently reviewed.
