Overview

Forecast Overrides allow you to manually adjust demand forecasts for better planning accuracy. This feature is ideal for managing new, rapidly changing, or low-predictability items. You can apply overrides individually or in bulk, and all changes will be reflected in your planning recommendations.

Step-by-Step Guide

Individual Forecast Overrides

  1. Navigate to the Forecasts Page

    • Locate the item and location you want to adjust.

  2. Edit the Forecast

    • Click on the forecast value for the desired month(s).

    • Enter the new forecast value.

    • (Optional) Add a note explaining the reason for the change.

  3. Save Changes

    • Click "Save" to apply the override.

    • Overrides are marked with an icon and can be viewed alongside the original forecast.

Bulk Forecast Overrides

  1. Start the Bulk Forecast Overrides Workflow

    • If starting from scratch:

      • Click the “Upload Forecast Overrides” button on the Forecasts page.

      • Click "Download Template" to download a pre-formatted CSV file.

      • This will create an example template that you can leverage for bulk overrides. Note Excel and other spreadsheet editors may remove the leading zeros of Item IDs which can cause issues when uploading.

    • If starting from existing item-location pairs:

      • Apply filters in the Forecasts page to narrow the view down to the item-location pairs you care about

      • Click “Download” to download a CSV file with the list of item-location pairs, and their Recurrency-generated forecasts

      • Override any values as needed.

  2. Edit the CSV File

    • Update the forecast values for the desired items and locations.

    • Ensure the file includes the required columns: Item ID, Location ID, UOM, Month(s), and Note (optional).

  3. Upload & Review Overrides

    • Click “Upload Forecast Overrides CSV” and select your edited file.

    • The modal will take you through a review workflow, where you can easily identify:

      • All items and locations being overriden

      • Largest changes, from both a dollar and a percentage standpoint

      • New forecasts for any overridden months

    • Here, you can check for anomalies highlighted in red (e.g., overrides >50% different from the system’s forecast).

  4. Apply Overrides

    • Click “Apply Overrides” to finalize changes.

    • A confirmation message will appear once updates are applied.
