Recurrency Item Notes

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

Recurrency Item-Location Notes lets you save internal context directly in Recurrency for a specific item-location pair. They can be used to document things like:

  • Why an override was made

  • Why an item was excluded

  • Customer or location-specific context

  • Any planning notes your team wants to reference later

πŸ’‘ Note: Recurrency Notes live in Recurrency only and are not pushed back to your ERP.

How to use Item-Location Notes

In Demand Planning

Recurrency Notes appear as a section in the Planning side pane. If you are using custom side-pane sections, the field may be hidden by default.

To enable it:

  1. Open any item in Demand Planning

  2. Click the configuration icon in the side pane

  3. Check the box next to Recurrency Notes

  4. Drag the section to your preferred location in the panel

Once enabled:

  1. Open an item in Demand Planning

  2. Locate Recurrency Notes in the side pane

  3. Click Add to enter a new note

  4. Click Save to store the note

To update a note, copy the text from the current note, paste it into a new note, make your edits, and save it.

πŸ’‘ Notes are append-only by design so Recurrency can preserve a clear record of what was written and when - as Recurrency keeps track of previous notes automatically. This helps maintain a simple history of planning decisions without accidentally overwriting previous context.

In Inventory Status Explorer

You can also view Recurrency Notes directly in the Inventory Status Explorer.

To enable the column:

  1. Open Inventory Status Explorer

  2. Open your column settings

  3. Enable Recurrency Notes

  4. Current Notes will now appear directly in the table as view-only.

Things to Know

  • Notes are tied to a specific item-location pair and are only available within the Planning module.

  • The side pane displays the most recent note. Click Add to view the history of previous notes. Recurrency automatically retains all past notes for reference.

  • Recurrency Notes are separate from ERP notes. They do not sync back to P21. ERP notes will still appear in the side pane under ERP Notes.
